Saw a nice, shiny previous-gen GTi in the used car lot at the Beretania Pfleuger. It was <$14K USD with aftermarket wheels, a body kit, and a big-ass FMIC. That's cheaper than a new base Yaris! Saw a 2008 Passat from the Ala Moana Boulevard dealer being fueled up at Tesoro for a test drive with a <$15K USD sticker on the windscreen. I guess Vee-dubs don't retain a lot of resale value.

Mitsubishi got two things right with the Evo. One, the USDM version retains the rear windscreen wiper, making it the only sedan sold here with one. Two, the emergency flasher button is enormous and placed high up on the center console, so it is easy to press when you go ass over a teakettle at the X-Games!
(0)Man, did I have a headache when I woke up this morning! I blame Lil! No, only joking …maybe it was the ice cream or being stuck on the H-1 Westbound where it went from a three-lane freeway to a one-lane parking lot. Anyway, it was good to see everyone last night.
(0)It’s bad enough that I have to come in to work on what’s a holiday to virtually everyone else, but do I have to also deal with people going less than 40-MPH on the H-1 Eastbound? The freeway users were sparse and there were no collisions to stop up the works, but for some reason everyone felt that they had to go surface-street speed. Speed up, get off the freeway, or stay home!
(0)Saw something on the morning news on KHNL channel 8 this morning about the homeless situation a the McCully Library – they even interviewed Hillary. Mayby finally something will be done about it, like maybe enforcement of current statutes.
(0)Ever since the homeless population has been allowed to run amok and unchecked down on the University-end of South King Street, an oppressive pall of feces-scented stink permeates the entire area. Time to do something to mitigate the situation, HPD/State Dept. of Health/somebody! I saw someone squatting down to drop one at curbside across the street from McDonalds last week!
(0)I’m driving in Kailua through a quiet residential neighborhood at the posted 30-mph. Someone comes up on me from behind going at least twice that and buries their front bumper so close to my back bumper that I can only see their black roof! What kind of d!ck would drive like this in Kailua? Oh, what’s this I see? That roof has a distinct depression in the middle! It’s a Prius! Apparently it’s a Kailua Beach Road resident, Prius-driving kind of d!ck! Kailua das’ why!
(0)On the drive in to town today, there was a person in a white ES 300 intent on forcing her way into the left lane of Like Like in front of me, even though there was no space for her to fit, and there was no traffic in front of her! She squeezed in right before the tunnel, whereupon I got into the right “slow” lane, and whizzed by traffic all the way to the freeway! There was literally nobody in the right lane between the tunnel exit and the footbridge. I guess she had to get into the left lane in Kaneohe in anticipation of making a left turn somewhere in Kalihi…
(0)Drat! POS! I lost the left “Asian Fit” nosepiece off my Oakley Half Jackets sometime yesterday. Had to put the regular ones back on to protect my face from the sharp plastic mounting hooks. Hopefully there are more sets available at McBike…
(0)Darned T-Mobile in Hawaii! My phone gets over 5-days of standby time in Whistler on the Rodgers Wireless network, but because it is fighting to keep connected to the weak signals here, the battery lasts only around 3-days. Junk!
