The Monday night Freeride was called on account of poor attendance, \u00c2\u00a0so I bailed home and went for a spin around the neighborhood on the Ellsworth.\u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0The mud from the last Wailuna ride was\u00c2\u00a0dried and flaking off\u00c2\u00a0of the frame and tires, and there was still grass and ferny bits stuck in the chainrings and elsewhere.\u00c2\u00a0 It took me\u00c2\u00a0longer than I had expected to get out of the house because I couldn’t find the cap to my Soma bike bottle.\u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0Robert Goulet must have been inside my house messing with my stuff…<\/p>\n
Out on the road, I climbed up to the top of the neighborhood\u00c2\u00a0and passed the two HPD officers waiting to bust illegal hikers exiting the old Omega\u00c2\u00a0station road.\u00c2\u00a0 I did my normal training loop over to WCC and did some laps.\u00c2\u00a0 My left\u00c2\u00a0Achilles’ tendon\u00c2\u00a0was hurting all last week, and on Saturday morning, I woke up with\u00c2\u00a0a left calf cramp that left me limping all weekend.\u00c2\u00a0 After the ride, all of that was history.\u00c2\u00a0 The legs and lungs felt great – just one of those days.\u00c2\u00a0 I called it short because the daylight was running out and ripped it back home.\u00c2\u00a0<\/p>\n
The Ellsworth has broken in nicely – the fork and rear suspension feel very smooth now.\u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0<\/p>\n
