either that get a $2 broomstick.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.studionewmedia.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2007\/10\/10-31-07_0942.jpg\" title=\"10-31-07_0942.jpg\"><img vspace=\"5\" align=\"left\" src=\"http:\/\/www.studionewmedia.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2007\/10\/10-31-07_0942.thumbnail.jpg\" hspace=\"5\" alt=\"Yaris S front\" title=\"Yaris S front\" \/><\/a>On my way out, I wandered through the showroom to browse the new &#8217;08 Toyotas.\u00c2\u00a0 They had a Yaris S 3-door with all the packages plus some TRD parts going for $19.5K!\u00c2\u00a0 WTF?!\u00c2\u00a0 I think a &#8217;08 Scion xD goes for below $16K bone-stock, and that already includes most of the stuff that the add-on Yaris packages\u00c2\u00a0include.\u00c2\u00a0 Granted, that particular Yaris\u00c2\u00a0had\u00c2\u00a0an A\/T to drive up\u00c2\u00a0 the price, but still&#8230; Put the TRD wheels on\u00c2\u00a0the xD for $2K and you&#8217;d end up still saving money and get\u00c2\u00a0a 1.8-liter 1ZR-FE and a couple of extra doors to boot!<\/p>\n<p><!--more-->The interior is well laid out.\u00c2\u00a0 Comfy, firm seats.\u00c2\u00a0 Tilt steering standard.\u00c2\u00a0 The &#8220;S&#8221; 3-door gets a tachometer in the instrument cluster.\u00c2\u00a0 Three gloveboxes!\u00c2\u00a0 I think the JDM Vitz might also have storage bins under the front seats&#8230;\u00c2\u00a0 The factory radio is a 2-DIN.\u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0I hope there are OEM brackets for a 1-DIN storage pocket and a 1-DIN radio.\u00c2\u00a0 The outside mirrors are powered and fold both ways.\u00c2\u00a0 Gas filler cap is on the correct (left) side for the USDM.\u00c2\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.studionewmedia.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2007\/10\/10-31-07_0943.jpg\" title=\"10-31-07_0943.jpg\"><img vspace=\"5\" align=\"right\" src=\"http:\/\/www.studionewmedia.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2007\/10\/10-31-07_0943.thumbnail.jpg\" hspace=\"5\" alt=\"Yaris S rear\" title=\"Yaris S rear\" \/><\/a>One of the salient upgrades of the &#8220;S&#8221; package is the factory body kit.\u00c2\u00a0 It is attractive, but I don&#8217;t know if it is worth the asking price.\u00c2\u00a0 Alternatively, one could get a non-&#8220;S&#8221; Yaris and add a Kaminari body kit later for about the same price as the &#8220;S&#8221;, but there wouldn&#8217;t be a tach.\u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0The Kaminari kit is more aggressive.\u00c2\u00a0 One good thing about the factory kit is if\u00c2\u00a0a\u00c2\u00a0single section ever needs to be replaced, it can probably be obtained from Toyota parts ala-carte long into the future.\u00c2\u00a0 Knowing the way things tend to work, the &#8220;S&#8221;
