Chris had fun planned with the family and JT was on the side.\u00c2\u00a0 It was breezy and a little overcast, but no rain all week promised good trail conditions.\u00c2\u00a0 We climbed Government Road and turned onto the\u00c2\u00a0Ditch trail.\u00c2\u00a0 On the ride two weekends before, we discovered that the road had been\u00c2\u00a0groomed.\u00c2\u00a0 The\u00c2\u00a0trail itself had been groomed since that time.\u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0Most of the cut grass was still on the trail, so the turns were a bit sketchy.\u00c2\u00a0 <!--more--><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" vspace=\"5\" align=\"left\" width=\"96\" src=\"http:\/\/www.studionewmedia.com\/gallery\/d\/34071-2\/mdt_3256a.jpg\" hspace=\"5\" alt=\"I don't like da kraka\" height=\"128\" style=\"width: 96px; height: 128px\" title=\"I don't like da kraka\" \/>Somewhere\u00c2\u00a0near the turnaround before getting onto the upper trail, Jeff hit a little rock jump.\u00c2\u00a0 On landing,\u00c2\u00a0the bike felt a little odd, so I saw him looking down checking for a flat tire.\u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0At the top of the climb on the upper trail, he found a crack on the upper ring of the steerrer clamp\u00c2\u00a0of his Thomson stem!\u00c2\u00a0 In recollection, he thought that he may\u00c2\u00a0have heard a &#8220;pop&#8221; when it gave.\u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0The lower ring was still holding fast, so the stem didn&#8217;t rotate in relation to the steerer, but there was noticeable flex in the rotational direction.\u00c2\u00a0 I saw a pair of drop-ins on the left of the upper trail leading down to the lower trail.\u00c2\u00a0 One was before the red truck, and one right after.\u00c2\u00a0 There was also a singletrack dropping in from the right that Jeff said probably starts near the tree up top.\u00c2\u00a0 Those deserve further investigation.\u00c2\u00a0 We saw two riders coming out from the right trail.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" vspace=\"5\" align=\"right\" width=\"96\" src=\"http:\/\/www.studionewmedia.com\/gallery\/d\/34076-1\/mdt_3257a.jpg\" hspace=\"5\" alt=\"Second drop-in\" height=\"128\" style=\"width: 96px; height: 128px\" title=\"Second drop-in\" \/>With the broken stem, I figured it would be a cruise back to the cars, but we did the inner loop anyway.\u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0After that,\u00c2\u00a0I again thought it would be a return to the bottom, but Jeff and Sara turned up the road after coming out of Ditch!\u00c2\u00a0 We climbed up and dropped into the\u00c2\u00a0secret ditch trail and came back out on the road.\u00c2\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>A few more\u00c2\u00a0pictures <a href=\"http:\/\/www.studionewmedia.com\/gallery\/v\/Fooligans\/20080330\/\">here<\/a>.\u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>D = 17.20 km (10.69-miles), Vavr = 17.21 km\/h (10.7 mph), Vmax = ?.??
