Interestingly these ones are the type I&#8217;m more used to seeing, the tri lobed bearings. The old joint utilized six large balls in a cage type bearing arrangement. I don&#8217;t know which is better. The diameter of the cup is slightly smaller and the bearing assembly looks a lot smaller and lighter. Anyway, removed the old boots, bearing assemblies, and installed the new parts,\u00c2\u00a0grease spooge getting everywhere. Yes, rebuilding CV joints is a horrible messy affair, I usually don&#8217;t bother anymore, but racecar. Getting the boot over the large end was the hardest part, it was a tight fit. Everything else went together nicely, and installed into the FX easily last night. Sorry no other pics, everything was covered in the moly mess so didn&#8217;t want to touch the camera.\u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0I was happy I was able to finish it last night, the weather forecast was calling for dire rains to start. Ends up last night was quite nice. It didn&#8217;t start until early this morning and at lunchtime the rains really got going. The FX is back together and I was able to start it a short while ago.
